Inspiring Raw Food Stories

By

The raw food movement is a rapidly expanding one which has helped many people reverse their health problems. The raw food diet usually means raw vegan (foods only coming from plants and nothing from animals) but some practitioners also include small to moderate amounts of non–plant substances such as raw milk or raw honey. Some all raw or high raw practitioners also include fish but use of raw meat is very rare. Some alleged participants in the raw meat diet include the now infamous Mel Gibson. His dedication however may be questionable as most alcohol is cooked.

The mainstay of the raw diet has been plants, fruits, nuts and sprouted legumes and grains. It is this diet that is rapidly growing in all walks of lives and is being seen by many as the cure to the health problems of people worldwide. Sometimes the raw food movement has been seen as a bit over-spiritual thus putting off potential converts. But with more and more different people taking up the diet it is perhaps best seen not as a diet that changes your life but one that simply helps you live your life better. People do not go to their doctors to change their lives as such but simply to maintain them better. Many raw foodists have gone on to become cult gurus due to their dietary choice but others have been content with merely maintaining the lives they already have in a much better way. Either way their stories are inspiring and it is a simple change anyone can make without needing professional assistance.

DANNY DALTON - Body Building Cab Driver

What is most inspiring about Danny Dalton’s story is that fact that he remains in a humble job despite his great change. He says it is very rewarding to be able to meet everyday people in his job and tell them about how his diet cured his health problems. This is one of the most convincing stories that the raw vegan diet is suitable for the everyday person.

TIM VAN ORDEN - Endurance Runner

One of the biggest names in the raw food movement. Tim Van Orden was a computer consultant who suffered from a chronic lack of energy which eventually forced him to quit his job. He tried various diets including regular vegan and macrobiotic vegan but still had little energy. Upon discovering the raw food diet however his life was suddenly changed and he rapidly became an athlete of champion level.

The most popular video by Tim Van Orden is “The Protein Myth” where he explains protein is not actually necessary for the human body. But rather amino acids of which protein is an unnecessary compound are.

JESSICA FENTON - Raw Food Author and Coach

Jessica Fenton (formerly known as Jessica Michael before marriage) used to eat a standard U.K. diet before being diagnosed with chronic fatigue disorder. She then took up the raw food diet and became a coach and author in the field appearing on many TV programs. Total Raw Food is her first and best known book.

Jessica has gone on to live a full domestic life with a raw food husband and baby and even a vegan dog though it's unconfirmed weather raw or not. She now also writes and consults on the issue of bringing up raw vegan families.
